Welcome back Tribefesta, here again, to introduce you to this smooth new artist I just came across and I'm actually glad did. He goes by the name of Nique Robinson from Aurora, IL. Nique is 27 years old and tells me he's been doing music for some years now and to be more exact since he was 14. Category wise I think he would definitely fall in the lyricist pod which he himself can agree with but also not afraid to try different approaches to music. He currently has an EP out called Paint which will be one of 3 to come and will all be released this year to introduces his debut album Colors album that is said to be dropped next year. I was still a bit more curious about the artist so I asked him probably the most common question there. But it will give me a little more insight into the artist.
Nique what are some of your influences?
Wale, J Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Drake & Big Sean with added inspiration from the likes of Kanye West & Jay Z..
He didn't need to say much else, I already like his sound from just hearing the Paint EP. From start to end you can catch all the melodic tones and pride behind a lot of the tracks. Its 4 songs max and I have to say Black and Fire are both my favorite tracks out of the entire project, seriously a good listen. I could culturally relate to them both and I think there well put together and production seems to be done well. Tribefesta check it out below.
